Saturday 19 October 2024 - Poetry from Friesland through a pink lens
After a festive opening of the Triënnale fan Beetstersweach 2024 we are excited to share the public program taking place during the last three weekends of the exhibition. No need to register or buy a ticket, just come by to listen, talk, and have a drink at artist bar De Bult. Each session is preceded by a tour of the exhibition by a member of the curatorial team.

Poet and translator Janneke Spoelstra is one of the authors of the bilingual anthology ‘Do draachst de leafde oan’, literatuer fan Fryslân troch in rôze bril / Jij draagt de liefde aan, literatuur van Friesland door een roze bril. Together with Frisian linguist Jelle Krol she talks about this collection of poetry and literature and reads from it.

Biography
Janneke Spoelstra is a poet, translator, and researcher affiliated with the Fryske Akademy. She made her debut in 2004 with the poetry collection Goeie is het wachtwoord, featuring verses characterized by their simplicity and directness. The poem “Fytse” from this collection can be seen as one of the first verses in her oeuvre addressing homosexuality.
Jelle Krol is a Frisian linguist and a collection organizer at Tresoar: the archive, museum, and library of Fryslân. In 2018, he published his dissertation on the issue of the emancipation of minority languages.
Alice Conforti is a Master’s student of Art History and Curatorial Studies at the University of Groningen. She is currently an intern at Kunsthuis SYB.
